You sure get a lot of perks when you're a teacher. The school district Tim and I work for gave us one day off in March, which was a Monday. When we realized Sea World was offering a buy one adult pass get the second one for free for credentialed teachers we decided to use our day off to take the kids to Sea World. Plus our passes are good till the end of the year. Couldn't have worked out better.
We were surprised when Madison said she wanted to go on "Journey to Atlantis" as her first ride of the day even though she saw how high up the end of the ride was. Since she met the height requirements I offered to go with her. We didn't get wet, so it was perfect.
When the boys went down they got really wet. You can see them sitting in the back in green shirts...Bryant has his hands up in the air.
Loved it!
The weather was perfect and the crowds were the lowest they had seen that season. That made it so nice to be there. It was relaxing, cool, and so much fun.
The animals were all awake and very mobile.
Every attraction always ended in a store. Madison was a good sport in not wanting to buy every animal we saw. She ended up leaving with a new lunch box....and a small penguin too.
The sea lion was our favorite because of how loud he was barking. He caught our attention and so Tim helped Madison feed him some fish.
This one liked to play with his food before eating it. He would hit it with the tip of his nose and bounce it in the air before swallowing it. He was fun to watch.
We got lucky to see this huge lizard when we came back into the park after eating lunch at the car.
The Shamu show is always neat. A little long at times, but the whales are just magnificent to see so it's bare-able. :-)
Can you tell she loves her dad?!
I love how you can still pick up the starfish and interact with them.
I'm so glad we went as a family. I know the boys have been here many times when they were younger and I was proud of them for being good sports to go again knowing that Madison would enjoy it the most.
